Meet CandiceI've been in education since 2008, when I substituted while working on both my Bachelor of Science and my Master of Education. I got "my own" classroom in 2010 and have been fortunate to gain experience in 8th-9th grade English, K-4 Science Lab, K-12 Instructional Technology, and -- now -- 5th grade English Language Arts and Reading.
My interest in educational technology was first ignited during the winter of 2010 when I was snowed in to my home and used the free time to read numerous teaching blogs. I discovered the wealth of information that can be exchanged using technology and started to realize how my students and I could share our learning and resources with the world. Once I saw how positively my high school students responded to the use of technology in the classroom, I was hooked! When I'm not directly teaching students, I am focused on helping educators work smarter (not harder!) and teach students in the way that comes most naturally to them as 21st-century learners: via technology. Acting as an independent education consultant in my "free time" allows me to nurture my love of helping teachers transform their current lessons by integrating technology and, ultimately, helping as many students as possible. |
